Booking system for painters — price per room with ROT calculated

Paint is material and earns no deduction. Buzzlink separates labour from materials per service, so the customer sees the real price after ROT before booking.

ROT 30%of the labour costCeiling SEK 75,000 per person per year, of which at most SEK 50,000 ROT

You will recognise this

  • The paint has to be separated from the labour on every invoice, and customers rarely allow for it.
  • Weather and scaffolding govern outdoor work, yet people still book a façade in February.
  • Everyone wants a rough price before they let someone in to measure.

Prepared from the start

The services below arrive with durations, prices and the right deduction the moment you pick the trade. All of it can be changed.

Services included

  • Målning inomhus
  • Tapetsering
  • Fasadmålning
  • Fönstermålning
  • Interior painting, wallpapering, façade painting and window painting are set up with a price per room or square metre.
  • The material share is set per service, so ROT lands on the labour and the paint stays outside it without you doing the sums.
  • Seasonal windows on the outdoor services, so nobody books façade painting in January.

Labour only — never material, travel or equipment hire

Run the numbers on a real room

A living room at 18 000 kronor where paint and filler are 6 000 leaves 12 000 in labour. ROT is 30 per cent of that 12 000, so 3 600 kronor — not the 5 400 the customer works out on the whole sum. That 1 800 difference is exactly the misunderstanding that makes a customer believe the invoice is wrong. With both figures in the booking, there is nothing to argue about.

The calculator

Run it on a real job

ROT-avdrag is 30% of the labour cost. Move the sliders and you see the same figure the customer sees before booking — including what happens when the ceiling runs out.

Pick Trade work in the calculator below. That is the button that computes ROT-avdrag.

Questions

Common questions about a booking system for målare

Can't find the answer? Get in touch and we'll sort it out.

Is the paint included in the ROT deduction?

No. ROT is 30 per cent of the labour cost. Paint, wallpaper, filler, dust sheets and equipment hire are entirely the customer's cost. On a job where materials are a third of the price, the deduction applies only to the other two thirds.

Isn't ROT 50 per cent?

Not any more. The temporary increase ran 12 May–31 December 2025. Since 1 January 2026 ROT is back at 30 per cent. Buzzlink calculates on the current rate, so an old figure cannot sit forgotten in your price list.

Does ROT apply to façade painting?

Yes. Painting is maintenance, so it qualifies for ROT regardless of the age of the house — the five-year rule only touches conversions and extensions. The customer must own the home and live in it themselves; a home that is rented out earns no ROT even though the customer owns it. Scaffolding hire is equipment hire and earns nothing, so it belongs on its own line.

What do I do if the customer's ceiling is full?

With no room left, Skatteverket pays nothing and you have to chase the customer. The booking asks how much of the year's 75 000 kronor has been used and recalculates the price on the spot if it is not enough.

Can the customer pay cash to keep it simple?

No. Electronic payment is a requirement for both ROT and RUT. Card, Swish and bank transfer are fine; cash, cheques or gift cards invalidate the whole deduction.
